Bio:One of the members of the Akatsuki group, Kisame is a deadly terrorist trained for evil purposes. Partners with Uchiha Itachi, he remains loyal as a teammate with him. Known as the Daimyo Killer, he was formerly a hidden mist shinobi. Water tribes were constantly searching for this shinobi after he terrorized them.

Enlisted with Itachi as a S-Class criminal, Kisame is as deadly as any shinobi can get. Armed with a gigantic broadsword covered with tape, Kisame can crush anything. If his "Samehade" (sharkskin blade) is revealed when the tape unfolds, it becomes an ultimate murder weapon.

His blade also sucks up chakra of people inches from it, though only when he swings it.

Kisame is one of the seven shinobi-gatana of the mist. The ring that Hoshigaki Kisame wears means 'south'. And according to Kisame, his blade, the Samehade, "it doesn't slice, it cuts you to ribbons!" (because it's made up of scales). It only lets Kisame hold it; Might Guy tried to hold it to use it against Kisame, and it responded by shooting out spikes and finding its way back to Kisame.

Kisame's name means "demon shark".

Mizu Bunshin no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique that utilizes water to create a Bunshin clone. Unlike a normal Bunshin, the Mizu Bunshin has the ability to interact more with the environment due to it having physical substance. This allows the clone to carry out limited attacks on its target. The range of the clone is limited however, it can not travel very far from the original body. If the Mizu Bunshin is injured, the clone will usually revert back into its natural water state.

The ninja forms the necessary hand seals which causes the water to form around the target into a spherical prison which only allows for limited movement. The ninja must keep their body touching the water prison to maintain its existence. If the contact is broken, the water falls away and their target is released. When combined with a bunshin technique, the ninja can imprison their target but still allow for a clone to attack others nearby.

Shouten no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique used by Akatsuki. This technique will allow a person to sacrifice their body so it can take on the almost real form of another. This technique is like Edo Tensei, but it allows for a live ninja to inhabit the body of another. Also unlike Henge which is just an appearance transformation for a ninja, this technique will allow the sacrifice to play the host for a virtual copy of another ninja.

The other ninja will totally control the sacrifice and donate a portion of their own chakra to the sacrifice to provide it chakra. While the ninja acts in the sacrifice body, it can perform most all techniques it normally does except for bloodline techniques. This is because the techniques are limited to however much chakra the ninja has donated. Once the chakra runs out and the sacrifical body dies, the shape change will end and the lifeless body of the sacrifice will be revealed.
